New Museum Lamp

New Lamp

Disappointed by the lack of light emitted by ‘New Museum’ from New York City, designer Sherwood Forlee decided to brighten up the structure. He created a miniature of it, placed a light bulb inside, and there you have it. It’s a new lamp.

New Museum

The building was originally designed by Mihoko Ouchi, and, apart of its inclination that reminds of the Leaning Tower in Pisa, it just leaves the sensation that New York simply expects more from its newest buildings.

Randomizing The Light

Lampost

Jaren Goh’s new concept of lamps gives an unconventional choice of lighting a room for those sick of seeing the same things every day. Lampost uses non-symmetrical lines for defining the way light beams are distributed along a room.

It has interchangeable shades that makes it very versatile and is intended for large spaces. The image resembles with the one of mushrooms springing out for the sunlight and would be an attraction for the visitors.

Diamond Lamp

Diamond Lamp

Diamonds are the expression of the supreme luxury, as few people afford a small diamond on their engagement ring. Designer Riccardo Giovanetti presented a way of bringing their refinement to our homes by releasing his collection of Diamond Lamps.

They can be suspended to the ceiling or to a wall and are made of layered blown glass at varying levels of opaqueness. The frame is from a white lacquered metal to match and complete the concept.

Lichtinfusion Lamp Introduced By Christian Maas

Lichtinfusion

I am not sure what most of you will think about this lamp designed by Christian Maas. The light bulbs of the lamp are perfusion-like and it reminds me of hospitals therefore I am not sure that I want to remember the days when I was sick. Mr. Maas called its project “Lichtinfusion” and his intention was to convert a regular object into an “outstanding contemporary design piece”.

Lichtinfusion

Except the light bulbs, I really can’t see another defect - the cables flow beautifully to the ground and it surely will give the creeps to your neighbors.

Luminescent Gravel For Your Floor

Luminescent Gravel

S. Lövenstein BV from The Netherlands produces luminescent particles that can be integrated into floors and shine in the absence of light. These particles look ordinary in daylight, and can be grouped in different forms, from circles to arrows. Their initial purpose was to give directions when evacuating a building that suffered a power outage.

They can be used also for the decoration of floors, being available in several colors and easy to combine with concrete, creating, this way, any symbol you might like. Just think how it would be to wake up at night to drink some water, and walk on a shiny blue floor.

2D Lamp Sticker Looks Great In Your Room

2D Lamp Sticker

If you ever wondered how to lighten up your house or your apartment, but you didn’t want to spoil the interior design with some bad looking light bulbs then you should consider this lamp sticker. The 2D sticker was designed by Alice Rosignoli from “Tall & Tiny” and it should impress any audience( I was impressed, for sure). You might say that it’s nothing special, but is different from other lighting ideas and it looks very cool and eventually that’s the whole point.
