A Londoner-based designer, Juan Carlo Calma, was assigned to rethink the Aranaz boutique in Manila, Philippines. The idea was to create a skin which resembles the canvas of leather bag because Aranaz needed “to have a new flagship in Greenbelt 5 (Makati City, Philippines) that would have a reflective surface similar to their evening bags”.

As you may see, Calma did a great job with the skin composed out of 220 pre-fab pieces for this special room. Most of the projects of the designer are based on “nature and algorithms found in nature” and one of his favorites is “exotic and luxurious skins such as crocodile skin”.

We can only hope that in the future the designers will not harm any animals because as you can see, we can use other materials rather than animal parts.
