At the 2008 Milan Design Week there were some cool items and I felt obliged to show you just a few from Milan. Today, I present you the Spiral Island Collection designed by David Trubridge, one of the most renowned green designers. The Island consists of lamps which float above the colorful seatings.

The future is green. Everywhere you are looking, you see green concepts and this is very good because we need to do better in order to save Earth. Green houses are also becoming more and more popular, therefore more artists are designing greener concepts.
One of the most impressive green houses was developed by Madeline Gins and Arakawa which consists of forcing the people to “use their bodies in unexpected ways to maintain equilibrium”. The concept is called Bioscleave House and it features waving floors and the painting is so… well lively-colored with no more than 40 shades.
The problem with it, is that the Bioscleave House doesn’t allow children inside because of the risks and you would have to sign a waiver before you enter. If you would like to have a house like this, then you will have to pay the $2 million price tag.

Chairs are important objects for the interior design of your house and if you want your room to look lively than Hongtao Zhou came up with the perfect solution. He designed a special chair concept called the CNC Adjustable Rocking Chair. It’s very easy to assemble because the joists and the notches are very… simple to adjust. All of the components of the CNC Rocking Chair are made of renewable materials therefore you shouldn’t have any concerns for the environment.

If you thought that you can decorate your house only with expensive furniture made of expensive materials, well you are wrong. Cardboard Furniture came up with a brilliant idea to manufacture fashionable furniture made of recycled materials which means that the design possibilities have almost no limits because you they can do whatever looks good.
However this idea is not new as in Europe these fancy products are being shipped for a while. I don’t know yet why in the US the cardboard furniture is not that popular.
Just consider the fact that if you get tired of its design you can recycle your furniture and they will built a new one from the parts that you recycled. I don’t know anything about the price but you can read more about cardboard furniture here.
